The SCGA completes work with the use of voluntary Committees or Task Forces. The following are two Task Forces that are currently active:

Damage Prevention Best Practices

The SCGA has initiated a Best Practices Task Force in 2013 charged with the responsibility to adopt a new version of the SCGA Best Practices. This Task Force will be represented by key stakeholders within Saskatchewan and will review and assess the opportunity to fully adopt a National Best Practices that is currently being prepared. The Task Force is made up of the following participants: Graham Biletski, Alliance Pipelines, Jason Rao, Armour Safety, Jim Tretiak, Magna, Bill Fraser, Carson Energy and Daryl Posehn , SCGA. Any members that are interested in participating in this initiative are urged to contact the SCGA.

Mandatory One Call

The SCGA has initiated a Mandatory One Call Task Force charged with the responsibility to investigate the possiblity of introducing Mandatory One Call Legislation for Saskatchewan. This Task Force will assess the magnitude of opportunity created by incidents with underground faciliites and complete an analysis of the issues and challenges of introducing this type of legislation. The Task Force will attempt to engage all key stakeholders in the community leading to a recommendation for the SCGA Board and its members by 2013 year end. The Task Force is currently made up of the following participants: Todd Hundseth- Hundseth Construction, Shane Kerr- Kinder Morgan, Steve Wallace- Heavy Construction Safety Association of Sask., Hank Heerspink, Central Line Contracting, Barb Tchozewski, Sask1stCall and Daryl Posehn, SCGA. Any members that are interested in participating in this initiative are urged to contact the SCGA.
